last Cas Metah monthly in the works this week

July 29, 2009 by Cas Metah

As I’ve been lately, this last “solo” installment will be a little late. EF Cuttin is coming through Friday to lay some scratches on some songs for me. This monthly is gonna be dope though, watch!

Once we get on the roll with the SI monthly these joints will be on time again, promise folks!

little behind…big news

July 5, 2009 by Cas Metah

As all you subscribers know I’m a little behind right now! If you don’t know the deal, check your email for a special offer on Idiomatic 2!

Being that I simply can’t seem to stay ahead these days with the monthly, I’ve decided it’s better to not tackle this thing solo. So thus my SI team is going to be joining me in turning this thing into something new.

Instead of 5 random songs each month though, we’re gonna make each one like an official EP. For example, one month might be a Mouth Warren solo ep. One month might be an EP where JustMe and Wonder Brown team up together.

Here’s the best part. For those that like getting the digital EP’s for only $5, you’re cool, you don’t have to do anything, you’re already set. But here’s the kicker: We’re also offering a physical cd subscription for just $8! That’s right, we’ll be pressing these EPs for physical sale as well! And right now the only place to get these exclusive releases is ESeye Music (that’s us)!

If you’re a current subscriber who wants to switch to the CD format, send me an email and we’ll get you squared away. If you’re just a visitor and you want to know how to subscribe, I’ll be getting that set up ASAP so stay tuned! If we do decide on selling this music outside the subscription realm, the price is going to go up, so save yourself the money now and get the hook up straight from us!

May songs finished…coming soon!!

June 1, 2009 by Cas Metah

Hey gang,

thanks again for hanging in there as I catch up. I just mixed the 6th (final) track for the May edition. I’m about to upload the tracks to my man Charlie so he can get them mastered so they sound even better in your ear drums. He doesn’t take too long, don’t worry, it’s worth the wait!! This month is the best yet hands down, in my opinion. Here’s the tracklist:

1. Ain’t No Use (prod. MattmaN)

2. All Set Up (prod. Soul Seize) – cuts by DJ Ginsu

3. Careless Whispers ft. Mouth Warren (prod. Abstrakt Soundz)

4. Grown Man Money ft. Shaw Bihl & 2-Tone (prod. Vintage)

5. Politics For A Dream ft. N.O.M.A.D. (prod. Paycheck Stubbz)

6. Way Back ft. Holmskillit & Theory Hazit (prod. and cuts by Theory Hazit)

I’ll be in touch!

Whoa, time to update!

May 28, 2009 by Cas Metah

Sorry friends! Seems I’ve been slacking on the site updates. Due to several changes about to be made, being made, and so forth…guess it slipped my mind. I’m going to be a couple weeks late (again) for May’s monthly. Good news is I’m getting caught up though! And the music, in my opinion, is getting better and better. So please be patient and you’ll get the songs ASAP. Thanks for understanding and your continued support!

For the record, note that I didn’t do commentaries for April. I was already behind a couple weeks getting the songs out, I didn’t want to waste another second. Here’s the April monthly tracklist:

2. Hush ft. Lyriz & MotionPlus (prod. DJ Form for Incorporated Elements)

3. Imagine That ft. Shaw Bihl & Mouth Warren (prod. Re:Flex the Architect)

 4. Just Did It (prod. Vintage)

5. On My Way ft. Mouth Warren & 3rd Degree (prod. Re:Flex the Architect)

6. Un Sense Heard (prod. Vintage)

February songs

February 28, 2009 by Cas Metah

What’s up everybody! The time has come to send out the tracks for this month. I’m currently in the middle of uploading a large file to my man Re:Flex (an SI posse cut for his End Of Earth album), but when it’s finished I’m going to upload the goodies for you. Here’s the Feb. tracklist:

1. “Get Some” ft. Ruffian – beat by Shine Music Productions

2. “Gonna Get Ya” – beat by Well Blended

3. “Look Around” – beat by Sammy B.

4. “Right Here” ft. Holmskillit – beat by Re:Flex the Architect

5. “Salt Water” ft. Shaw Bihl (of Field Specialists) – beat by Lil Jay

6. “Stand Firm” ft. Wonder Brown – beat by MattmaN

This months cover was designed by my partner JustMe. As always I mixed the songs and Charlie DeVos hooked up the mastering. Enjoy the songs and commentary and leave some feedback here on the blogsite and let me know what you are feeling and/or not feeling.

…on a side note, check out my MySpace page www.myspace.com/casmetah to hear my contribution to the Kings Of Tragedy album by Wonder Brown and MC Till. The track is called “Early Morning Love”.

My heart goes out to the family of R-Swift who I hear just lost their infant. Keep them in your prayers.

mid-month blog 02/09

February 16, 2009 by Cas Metah

What’s up everybody? This weekend I was in Kentucky with the SI fam (JustMe, Wonder Brown & Mouth Warren). We worked on some music, made some plans for this year and had some dope spiritual conversations. We also played basketball with some people from JustMe’s church. Needless to say, I’m sore. That’s the first time I’ve ran 5-on-5 full court in a long time.

I’ve got some good news for subscribers and potential subscribers alike. When I first started this whole thing I said I would try it for 6 months and see how it went. Well all I’m going to say for now is things are in construction to make this subscription service bigger and better come summertime. I’m positive all current subscribers are going to be pleased and that even more people will get on board. If you think the subscription service idea is revolutionary now, just wait for the next level…until next time peace and God Bless,

Mid-month blog 01/09

January 17, 2009 by Cas Metah

Okay, so we’re half-way through the month of January. Thanks to everyone who has signed up! You’ll get your songs for this month on the 31st. I hope you’re enjoying “The Free For All” as well.

So as a way to keep the blogsite personal and interactive I will try to post on here at least once a week. You can hold me accountable if I start slipping! Haha. How about some Idiomatic ramblings…

– If you’re here I’m assuming you know about my crew Scribbling Idiots. In 2005 we released a mixtape entitled “Idiomatic Vol 1″ (If you don’t have it, you can sign up for ILLECT Recordings’ newsletter via their MySpace and get a free digital download copy). Well it’s 2009 and I’m wrapping up song mixes for Volume 2! I’m thinking it will probably be released by spring. I think the coolest part about this mixtape is it really showcases the whole crew, except Elias and Kaboose, pretty equally. Due to their schedules and other goings-on’s they weren’t able to contribute. Elias has one verse actually, I stand slightly corrected. There is one guest appearance courtesy of Deacon The Villain (of CunninLynguists) and a slew of super fresh mixtape drops that I still can’t believe we have. You’re going to have to wait and see who they are! All of the “solo” tracks are done over classic hip-hop instrumentals, and I do mean classic! Other than that all of the “group” tracks are completely original! Beats by: Scribbling Idiots (Re:Flex, Theory Hazit, JustMe & MattmaN), 4th Disciple, Ohmega Watts, Intellect and Vintage. So keep your fingers crossed the mixing/mastering process goes smooth.  I want to put this out soon, but I’m not half-stepping anything. We coming correct this year!

– I was reading an interview with one of my new favorite super groups the other day. In the interview they were asked to describe each other’s personality using the “he’s the ______ one” formula. I thought that was pretty neat. It got me thinking how I would answer that about SI. So here ya go! haha! JustMe, he’s the inspirational one. Ruffian, he’s the funny one. Wonder Brown, he’s the focused one. Mouth Warren, he’s the creative one. Theory Hazit, he’s the charismatic one. MattmaN, he’s the consistent one. MotionPlus, he’s the loyal one. Re:Flex, he’s the technical one. Kaboose, he’s the successful one. Elias, he’s the busy one. Griffin, he’s the honest one. And me, well I’m probably the organized one.  I’m the glue holding these idiots together! Of course only with help from “The One” who holds me together, Jesus! Until next time folks, peace out! ~ CAS METAH
